Artist Statement
In my art practice, painting morphs between two and three dimensions across a variety of surfaces. Wall hung works on traditional surfaces share space with three-dimensional prop like pieces. Representation moves between the illusionistic possibilities of paint and immersion in its material quality. The scattered, theatrical installation of painting mixes the serious with the light in its subject matter and often incorporates poetic text or dialogue.
